For all of my readers abroad, I feel I have to make a little introduction to this wedding. This was in no way an ordinary booking for me or this beautiful couple.
For the last couple of years, I have been donating a wedding photography coverage for the Heart & Lung fund of Sweden, for their research fund for children with heart conditions.
It all happens with the help of the untirable Abbes pappa, on his beautiful blog about his own child Abbe, whom was born with a heart condition. The Heja Abbe Blog.
Abbes Pappa arranges an auction every year in February and, with the support of businesses and companies ,people get to buy things they need and do some good at the same time.
100% of the revenues from the auctions are transferred to The Heart and Long Fund of Sweden.
I can not begin to tell you how I admire Abbes pappa and his efforts. It’s a lot of hard work, keeping an auction going for 30 days, and at the same time working full time and having a family to care for. Still, he manages it and is not only a great ambassador for the Fund, but also an incredible person who has one of the most influents and worth reading blogs of this country. Everything about him is about love, tolerance and knowledge. I wish I knew more people like him.
Well, what I was about to tell you, is that this wedding was part of 2012 auction. Now there were a lot of bidding, but this couple was determined to win it. And so they did.
They contributed with the astonishing sum of 18 200 SEK to research in children’s heart disease!
Sara and Craig, with their big heart DID IT!
So you can imagine how special this wedding was to me. Sara & Craig live in New York, so we only met at their rehearsal dinner at the amazing Yaki-da in Gothenburg. My jaws dropped when I entered that place! It’s like Alice in wonderland’s dream house!
They dropped even more when I was welcomed by Sara & Craig: The first thing they said was
“You are a guest for us, please feel like one!”
And I did. I really did.
How beautiful and emotional their wedding was, I will let you see by yourself. Their aren’t many words making it justice anyway.
They planned the whole thing from abroad, manage to bring guests from all over the world – China, Kenya, Brasil, England, Us – you name it- to this little Island Stora mosskullen on the archipelago of Gothenburg. If that isn’t a destination wedding, I don’t know what is!
The venue is an old boat house. As beautiful and pittoresk as you would imagine it.
The best thing I will have to mention, was that I got to share these 2 beautiful days with a very good friend of mine. The talented Oskar Allerby in Gothenburg. Oskar and I wanted to shoot together for sometime, and this was the perfect occasion. Oskar is also a strong believer in doing good and giving back to the community. He is a regular contributor yo “Ung Cancer” and didn’t hesitate to come along and work for free for the cause of Heja Abbe. Sara and Craig were familiar with his work all ready and were crazy happy to have him come along. He did beautiful work as a second shooter.
Sara & Craig,
It was an honor being there with you. Thank you! THANK YOU!

This wedding looked right up my street! I think you did a spectacular job of covering it, and capturing some great personalities! My favourite image has to be the one of the guests sat on the rock in Black and white. I love it, it’s totally timeless.
